Arctic Snow and Ice Products is excited to release three new plow shoes. These will help make plowing easier for the end user along with increasing long-term durability of their plows. We interviewed John Pinckney about this exciting development and what this innovation means for the future of plowing.
Pinckney states, “We’re excited to talk about our new wear shoe on our sectional snow pushers. We’ve kind of taken our shoe and flipped it around so the wider portion of the shoe is to the back of the plow. That’s going to give the end user a lot better wear on their shoe and their shoe is going to last a lot longer on the sectional snow blade, so we’re excited to bring that to market.”
The back portion of other shoes often wears out faster due to the angle, so Arctic Snow and Ice Products has thickened and widened the back portion of the shoe. This will allow for increased durability and longevity wear wise.
Arctic Snow and Ice Products started in the snow business with plowing snow, so they see and identify a lot of different factors in their own market and try to create innovations that improve upon the experience of the customer. Pinckney mentions, “We’ve already tested in our own Fleet of 400 plus machines so that we know that the shoes are going to work for the customer. It’s cool because we’re able to implement those changes right away”.

Pinckney declares, “Our shoes are going to last a lot longer, which is going to save the end user a lot of money in the long run. You know, while this is a small change, I think it’s going to help the end user, especially in cases when you look at a guy that’s got a fleet of at least 20 plus plows. You might get an extra season out of your shoes, which could be worth around an extra $10,000”.
