Company Overview
Everest Equipment Company in Ayer’s Cliff, Quebec, is a subsidiary of the Alamo Group.

Everest Equipment designs and manufactures the most comprehensive range of top-quality snow removal and ice control products in the industry, backed by the industry’s strongest dealer network, to help our customers maintain safe and efficient roads.

The Company’s products are at the forefront of snow removal equipment technology. Everest markets its products under some of the most trusted brands in the Municipal and Airports plows, hitches, wing systems, dump and all-season spreader bodies industries.

In 1974, Ewing-Records & Associates, a company from Converse, Texas, founded our plant in Ayer’s Cliff, Québec with a purpose to increase its market coverage. Our plant was built primarily to manufacture custom steel forming equipment for below and above ground applications.

The Canadian and Quebec governments had formalized plans to develop several significant Hydro Electric power generating sites, and Ewing-Records wanted the opportunity to capture a portion of the steel forming requirements on those projects. Ewing-Records had the engineering expertise but needed a Canadian based fabricator to make the sales goals attainable.

A few years after the plant’s inception, the operations of Ewing-Records & Associates were acquired by The Burke Company of California, thus changing the name of our company to Burke Canada Inc.

Initially, the custom underground forming equipment we had at the time was our primary focus, but as time passed and the market fluctuated, we began looking for alternative products to manufacture in order to keep our factory running at full capacity. This led to our Everest snow and ice equipment product lines initiative.

In 1989, Burke Canada Inc. was acquired by a group of its employees and became a privately owned and operated company under the name of Everest Equipment Inc. The change in Everest’s ownership did not shift the focus of the market.

Our company’s direction, superior products, and plant location gave us a unique edge over others in an ever-growing competitive market-place. During this period, our factory expanded to a 32,000 square foot facility with an approximate stockyard area of 3 acres.

As our company gained recognition, Everest Equipment Inc. changed into Everest Equipment Co. and became a part of the Wausau-Everest L.P. in 2004. This was followed by the Specialized Industries purchasing our company. We operated under the direction of Specialized Industries until 2014 when the Alamo Group Inc. conducted an acquisition of the Specialized Group of companies.

Founded in 1969, Alamo Group Inc. is an industry leader when it comes to the efficient provision of design, manufacture, distribution, and service of high-quality equipment for infrastructure maintenance, agriculture, and other applications.
