Monroe, part of the Aebi Schmidt Group, has been building snow and ice equipment for more than 60 years. From plows and hitches to spreaders and dump bodies, Monroe delivers customizable solutions for municipalities of all sizes—backed by a global partner known for world-class specialty vehicles.
At Snow Plow News, we’re always on the lookout for industry leaders who are moving snow and ice control forward. Recently, we caught up with Tony Beaver of Aebi Schmidt’s Monroe brand, a name that has been serving municipalities and contractors for over 60 years.
Monroe has a unique position in the market: it’s both a commercial upfitter and a municipal equipment manufacturer. On the commercial side, the team outfits trucks with utility bodies, flatbeds, and small dump bodies. On the municipal side, Monroe is known for manufacturing the snow and ice removal equipment that many communities rely on.
“On the municipal side of life, we actually manufacture the equipment,” Beaver shared. “Snow plows, front plow hitches, underbody plows, live bottom bodies, and slide-in V-hopper bodies—we cover it all.”
As part of Aebi Schmidt, Monroe has the strength of a global partner behind it. Aebi Schmidt is known worldwide for designing and delivering world-class specialty vehicles and equipment, providing expertise and innovation that enhance Monroe’s own legacy of trusted, road-tested products.
Monroe’s equipment line covers a wide spectrum. Bodies can range in size from 10-foot Class 7 builds to 15- and 16-foot Class 8 builds—and in some applications, even as large as 24 feet. Capacity is equally flexible, with spreaders designed to handle anywhere from 5 cubic yards up to 20 cubic yards of material.
That level of variety gives municipalities the freedom to choose exactly what works for their unique challenges.
“Every community can specify a truck however they’d like it built,” Beaver explained. “We don’t just manufacture one product and say, ‘Here it is, take it or leave it.’ Instead, we sit down, go over the different models, explain the differences, and help them find the fit that works best for their needs.”
With six decades of proven performance and the backing of Aebi Schmidt, Monroe continues to deliver the tools and technology that keep roads clear, safe, and winter-ready.
