The Ford F-150 is one of the most beloved pick-up trucks and customers love the F-150 for plow applications, due to their price point and maneuverability. Ford is leading the drive to electric vehicles, rolling out the Ford F-150 Lightning, an all-electric truck and an all-electric van. The F-150 Lightning was developed with all the standards that Ford implements on all of their trucks and is Built Ford Tough.Â
The electric Lightning has gone through all of the toughest durability tests, including cold weather testing and proved to do the job. Ford has paid special attention to the key needs of their customers across vocations, to set the vehicle up to deliver those needs. Now, Ford has a battery that delivers 230 miles of range and an extended range battery that increases up to 300 miles of range. Ford recognizes that different customers are going to have different levels of energy needed. It isn’t just about the mileage, but about the other electrical loads that might be placed on the vehicles, Ford looks at these components collectively on all their electric vehicles. Ford has thought about the intelligent range calculations and have these built into their electric vehicles. These calculations take into account an array of factors, including, weather, traffic, and loads to give customers an accurate picture of how much range is available so they can tailor their work accordingly.Â
For customers who aren’t ready to make the step to a fully electric vehicle, Ford has introduced the power-boost hybrid to the F-150. The hybrid enhances the power output, as well as the fuel economy. The vehicle offers great innovations like the Pro Power On-Board exportable power, so it is a great solution for people who want to take that first step from traditional gas and diesel powertrains. The Lightning electric vehicle is not currently set up with a snow plow package, but Ford is always looking to improve their offerings for all their customers’ needs.
