When it comes to salt spreaders, Buyers Products has one of the widest ranges in the industry—serving everyone from homeowners to large municipalities. Now, they’ve introduced a new top-end offering: the Pro 8000, an 8-cubic-yard poly municipal spreader designed to bridge the gap between traditional stainless steel V-boxes and the growing demand for high-capacity poly alternatives.
“Most people are familiar with the large stainless steel V-box spreaders municipalities have used for decades,” said Scott Mormon. “The Pro 8000 delivers the same capacity and functionality but in a poly body, making it a great fit for large contractors or smaller municipalities that want to maximize time on the road and minimize trips back for refills.”
The Pro 8000 joins the Pro 4000 and Pro 6000 models as part of Buyers’ expanded Pro Series. Built to fit a 10-foot body, the unit offers full-size auger and chain drive systems, municipal-grade motors, and compatibility with Buyers’ municipal accessories—all while delivering an impressive 30% cost savings compared to stainless steel units.
And the innovation doesn’t stop at design. The Pro 8000 comes in both chain and auger configurations, with electric or hydraulic options, and it’s proudly manufactured in Ohio and Indiana.
According to Mormon, this marks an important shift in the market: “For years, contractors and municipalities have relied on stainless steel spreaders. But just like poly hoppers became widely accepted in the 1 to 2-yard range, we’re now seeing that same transition happening in the 6- and 8-yard categories. The Pro 8000 offers the durability and performance they expect, with the added benefits of poly construction.”
