BOSS’s new SR Mag enclosure brings comfort and protection to winter operators. With three-sided tempered glass, a hard steel roof, and quick-fold design for transport, it keeps operators warm, out of the elements, and ready for work
At Snow Plow News, we’re always looking at innovations that make winter operations safer and more comfortable. Recently, we spoke with Cory Jokela of BOSS, who shared details about the company’s new enclosure for the SR Mag—a feature designed to help operators stay protected and productive in harsh winter conditions.
“We understand that our customers want to be comfortable,” Jokela explained. “They need to move from job to job, and they need a robust, durable solution to those challenges. That’s where the enclosure for the Mag comes in.”
The enclosure is a three-sided, tempered glass unit with an all-steel hard roof. It folds down in under a minute for transportation and storage, allowing operators to place it on an open trailer and drive safely between sites.
For operators, the enclosure is a step toward truck-like comfort while still working outside. “The Mag, the Scout, the Snow Raider—they’re all a step up from running a shovel,” Jokela said. “But you’re still exposed. The enclosure traps the heat the Mag pushes out, keeping you warm and out of the elements. It’s a major improvement for working in winter conditions.”
The enclosure also comes fully equipped for safety and convenience, with options for a beacon light, strobe light kit, and windshield wiper. “You can load it up if needed—wipers, strobes, beacon lights. Everything plugs right in,” Jokela noted.
Installation is simple and requires no additional hardware. The enclosure uses existing machine hardware: six bolts and a wiring harness that plugs directly into the dash. “It just drops right in. You’re good to go,” Jokela said.
Currently, the enclosure is specific to the SR Mag and does not fit the Scout or Snow Raider. But for SR Mag operators, it’s a game-changer—making winter work more comfortable, safe, and efficient.
